Kenneth Farrell Gloden, age 91, of rural Keyes, Oklahoma died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at his home in rural Texas County, Oklahoma. He was born August 26, 1922 in rural Texas County, Oklahoma, the son of Barton Farrell and Dorothea (Richterberg) Gloden.

Kenneth was a farmer and lifetime resident of Texas County. He served in the United States Army as a medic. When Kenneth was younger, the family would take vacations to Colorado and enjoyed trout fishing. One of the family’s memorable trips was when they went to Yellowstone. Kenneth was a family man. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews; and was always sneaking them cookies. Kenneth spent time in his shop working on vehicles and was an accomplished woodworker.

Survivors include his sister, Imogen Hetzel and husband James of Andrews, Texas; brothers, Melvin Dean Gloden and wife Linda of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma, Bobby Gloden and wife LoRee of Keyes, Oklahoma; and 16 nieces and nephews.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Emerson Lee; and sister Maxine.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Elkhart, Kansas with Pastor Ed Richards and Pastor Dan Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart, Kansas. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, with family present, on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart, Kansas. The family requests memorials may be given to the Morton County Hospital in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
