Kenneth E. Johnson

Kenneth E. Johnson, age 91, died Monday, July 25, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society in Liberal, Kansas.

He was born on July 13, 1931, the son of Joseph Johnson and Elsie Arnett in Beaver, Oklahoma.

Kenneth graduated from Liberal High School and went on to finish two years at Tennessee Tech. He married Ladora Ann Grider on January 6, 1952, in Raton, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on November 7, 2008. Kenneth was very intelligent and hard working. He worked as a draftsman for Panhandle Eastern for many years. He also was the owner of Johnsons Flowers in Liberal alongside his wife. Kenneth and his wife enjoyed golfing and traveling both in the United States and internationally. He loved flying and displaying his Stearman airplane for air shows. Kenneth was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He will be remembered for his quick wit, one liners and storytelling for anyone that would listen.

His four grandchildren, Kenton Holder (Tracy), Kevin Holder (Delainy), Preston Johnson (Jandi), and Duston Johnson (Johnette)
Eleven great grandchildren, Addilyn, Evan, Alexis, Jackson, Braden, Cecilia, Maddex and Amelia Holders,
Annie, Adrian,and Wren Johnson

Visitation will be 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 1, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church, 116 W. 3rd St, Liberal, Kansas. Rev. Brad Bennett presiding.
