Kathryn Elizabeth Barber, 89, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at Stevens County Hospital, Hugoton, Kansas. She was born to Earl and Alice P. (Gentry) Caselman on May 2, 1932, Beloit, Kansas.
She married the love of her life Cecil Ralph “Jack” Barber on August 9, 1950. To this union were three precious children: Jackie, Rod, and Jeannie.
Kathryn was a very active member of the First Christian Church. She enjoyed teaching children’s church. She attended the Senior Center quite often and loved a good game of bingo. When Jack was still living, she enjoyed trips they took together. She enjoyed riding motorcycles with son, Rod. She was an active and cool grandma. Kathryn enjoyed water skiing, poetry, reading books, and wild and fast driving. Her family always laughed when she got behind the wheel because she was a wild driver.
Survivors include loving children; Rod Barber and wife Cindy, Fritch, TX., Jackie Williams and husband Max, Hugoton, KS., and Jeannie Hern and husband Jim, Cheney, KS.; eleven grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by loving husband, Jack Barber; parents, Earl and Alice Caselman; siblings, Hazel Grief, Margaret Robbins, William Caselman, James Caselman, Lois Albin.
A memorial has been established for Pheasant Heaven Charities or First Christian Church. In care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, Kansas 67951.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2021, 10 AM to 8 PM, Robson Funeral Home, 314 S. Van Buren, Hugoton, Kansas.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021, 10 AM, First Christian Church, Hugoton with Pastor Heath Kelley presiding. Burial to follow at Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton, Kansas.
