Kathleen Kennedy Sakis, age 71, passed away Saturday evening, September 17, 2016, at the Minneola District Hospital, Minneola, Kansas.
She was born August 22, 1945, at Phoenix, Arizona, the daughter of Lewis Lamoreux and Vera K. (Miles) Kennedy. As a young girl she attended school in Aurora, Colorado. A resident of Meade for ten years moving from Hugoton, Kansas, she was a homemaker, mother, and a navigator.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and was associated with the Battered Women of America. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, collecting dolls, and spending time with her family and friends.
On June 6, 1996, she married Paul E. Sakis at the First Christian Church in Hugoton, Kansas. He survives.

Three daughters, Jolene Hines of Garden City, Kansas
Dianna Miller and husband Arick of Hugoton, Kansas
Bobbie Davis of Louisiana
A brother, David Kennedy of West Virginia
Three sisters, Louise Homan of Denver, Colorado
Glenda Kennedy of Illinois
Edith Reynolds of Denver, Colorado
Thirteen grandchildren Two great-grandchildren
She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Richard and Jesse.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.
In lieu of flowers the family would welcome memorials to the American Cancer Society in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
