Karolynn Roberts passed away on March 3rd, 2021, at Lone Tree Retirement Center in Meade, KS; she was born in Fowler, KS on May 31, 1933 to Dimple and Amelia Zortman (Scott). She was 87 years old, and was with her family when she passed.
Karolynn lived a full life and wore a variety of hats, from working as a telephone switchboard operator and in healthcare to hauling livestock as a commercial truck driver. She was a talented seamstress, a dedicated mother, and had a knack for spelling. When her grandchildren were young, she invested a great deal of time helping her daughters take care of them. Karolynn loved the outdoors, and her children fondly remember the many camping trips they went on as a family.
She is survived by her brother Micky and Lucie Zortman, five daughters – Priscilla (Dinky) and Chris Ory, Robbilyn (Doodle Bug) and John Robinson, Veronica (Vicky) Fuller, Khristie (Khris) Goodwin, and Shawna (Pooh) and Leighton Miller, her twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Roberts Jr, two sons, Dimple and Michael Roberts, two brothers, Mac and Larry Zortman, and two sisters, Ramona Barton and Kathleen Zortman.
A private service for family members will be held at a future date. Interested parties may send memorials to Lone Tree Retirement Center, where she was provided excellent care in the final years of her life. Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, Kansas, is in charge of arrangments.
