Judy I. Harris

Judy I. Harris, 74, died Sunday January 9, 2022 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born October 13, 1947 in Lexington, Missouri, the daughter of William H. Kuehn and Thelma I. (Kauffman) Eichman.

As a young girl Judy and her family moved to Garden City where she attended and graduated from the local schools with the class of 1965. Shortly after graduation she moved to Liberal, Kansas and worked as a waitress before completing cosmetology school at the Liberal Hair Academy. Upon completion Judy opened her own salon and then worked as an instructor at the college herself. She married Steven Harris on July 16, 1972 in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1996 she moved to Wichita where she worked at various places in retail sales before moving back to Garden City in 2007.

Judy enjoyed bowling, trips to the casino, playing BINGO, and was a huge fan of anything John Wayne. She is remembered by her family for being loving, and supportive. She had a compassionate and caring heart and was always encouraging to each of them. Judy could be stubborn and bull-headed at times, as she rarely lost an argument. She loved animals and had a knack for adopting family members dogs as her own. She had an unshakable strength about her.

Judy is survived by her Daughter- Stacy Campbell of Mobile, Alabama, 2 Grandchildren- Shane (Summer) Frahm of Spanish Fort, Alabama and Blakely (Tito) Campbell of Lockhart, Texas, 2 Great Grandchildren- Malik Hill and Legend Frahm., Brother- David Keuhn of Garden City, Kansas, and Sister- Tammy Garth (Tyce Davis) of Liberal, Kansas, along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Husband- Steve Harris and Brothers- Richard Kuehn and Kevin Garth.

A celebration of life service will be held from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Saturday January 15, 2022 at the VFW in Liberal, Kansas. Condolences may be posted by visiting www.garnandfuenralhomes.com
