Judith Karen (Hohner) Schrepel

On December 26th, 2019, Judith Karen (Hohner) Schrepel passed away at the Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was 84 years old.
Judy was born on January 13, 1935, in Dodge City, Kansas, to Myrtle Alice (Parsons) and Leonard Fenton Hohner. She was a dust bowl baby and was raised on the farm NW of Ulysses in Grant County, Kansas.
Growing up she enjoyed the country life and went to school in Ulysses. She attended Fort Hays State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.
On August 26, 1956, she married Wilfred Eugene Schrepel and they raised two boys in Ulysses. She was a warm and loving mother. Her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids were her great joy.
Judy was a dedicated educator for 29 years first in Plainville and Norton then in Ulysses, Kansas. She was certainly a part of her community and active in the Grace Lutheran Church, Book club, Monday Study club, Sorority, Bridge club, was a director of the Grant County Scholarship Foundation and participated in several Quilt groups among others. Making beautiful quilts for her family and friends was her passion.
Judy is survived by her two sons, Douglas Schrepel of Colorado Springs, and Bradley Schrepel of Ketchikan, Alaska; her five grandchildren, Caitlin Schrepel of Seattle, Jordan Schrepel of Seattle, Marissa Schrepel of Colorado Springs, Alanna Schrepel of Bellingham, Washington, and Wyatt Schrepel of Seattle; and two great-grandchildren, Ellie and Nora Hendricks of Seattle.
Services will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at 10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Todd Guinn officiating. Burial will be at the Ellinwood Lakin Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood, Kansas.
