Judith J. (Judy) Arnold, age 78, of Johnson, Kansas died Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in Johnson, Kansas. She was born September 11, 1938 in McPherson, Kansas, the daughter of Raleigh F. and Ardella (Lindley) Ross.
Judy, a homemaker, grew up in rural Sumner County and graduated high school in Wellington, Kansas. She earned a degree in home economics education at KSU. Judy married Earl Arnold on August 14, 1960 in Mayfield, Kansas. They lived on the farm, until moving to town in 2011. She served as a 4-H Leader, and was a member of MNO, EHU, the Loose Threads quilting group, KUM Double Club. Judy was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sunday school teacher, member of United Methodist Women, and served as chair of the funeral dinner committee for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Earl of their home; son, Steve Arnold and wife Kathleen of Johnson; daughter, Shelley Rosario and husband Pete of Manhattan, Kansas; brother, Jerry Ross of Wellington, Kansas; and eight grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; twin sons, grandchildren, Tony Arnold and Tracy Arnold; two brothers, and one sister.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 10, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Johnson, Kansas with Jim Ross officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
