Judith Diane Angell, 84, died Friday, January 13, 2023 at Homestead Estates in Liberal, Kansas.

She was born on December 18, 1938, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Helen (Fansler) Black.
She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines in 1957, and then from Kansas University in 1967.
On May 3, 1959, she married Royce Angell in Des Moines. He preceded her in death on October 13, 2016.

Judi was a primary level school teacher for her entire career. She won the prestigious Crystal Apple award from School District 11 in Colorado Springs in 1994.

Judi was active in church as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent, was active in handbell and chancel choir and served as a deaconess. She served as a Docent at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs and enjoyed taking kids and grandkids to the zoo. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Angell and his wife Janelle of Wichita, Kansas
Her daughter, Kim Chesbro and her husband Merle of Liberal, Kansas
Brother Jay Black and his wife Ruby of Des Moines, Iowa
Sister Jill Hess and her husband Russ of Orlando, Florida
4 grandchildren; Nicole Kennedy and husband Corey, Mindy Angell, Grant Chesbro and wife Cathrine, and Terissa Hanson and husband Mark.
6 great grandchildren; Dora, Logan, Payton, and Peter Kennedy; Paxton and Jaxson Hanson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Royce.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the First Southern Baptist Church, 621 N Western Ave, Liberal, Kansas on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mark Cress presiding.
A Private Family burial will take place.
