Juanita E. Broaddus: UPDATE

Juanita Broaddus, age 85, died Monday, April 15, 2013 at her home in Hugoton, Kansas. She was born April 15, 1928 in Follett, Texas, the daughter of Albert and Lillie Fern (Hartman) Miller.

Juanita graduated from Amarillo High School in Amarillo, Texas. She married Charlie O. Broaddus, Jr. on August 3, 1950 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. They moved to Hugoton, Kansas in 1955 where she was a homemaker and the greatest Mother. Juanita enjoyed playing bridge on Tuesday and Thursdays. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Pollyanna, and First Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie O. Broaddus Jr. of Hugoton, Kansas; daughters, Beverly E. Young and husband (Ret) Col. Morris M. of Niceville, Florida, Barbara C. McCaskell of Hugoton, Kansas, Virginia A. Martin and husband Jeffrey D. of Hugoton, Kansas; sons, Charlie O Broaddus III and wife Cynthia of Hugoton, Kansas, Mark K. Broaddus and wife Jennifer of Memphis, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Brandi Broaddus of Trinidad, Colorado, Chip Broaddus of Woodward, Oklahoma, George Martin of Concordia, Kansas, and Sarah Martin of Hugoton, Kansas.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 22, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Hugoton, Kansas with Pastor Randy Nash officiating. Interment will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton, Kansas. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Garnand Funeral Home in Hugoton. Garnand Funeral Home, 423 S Main, Hugoton, KS 67951 is in care of arrangements.
