She was born November 28, 1955 at Liberal, KS, the daughter of Robert Lee and Montie (Swingley) Altland.
She married Steven Fosdick on October 3, 1986 at Perryton, TX; He survives
Joy attended Liberal schools and was a graduate of SCCC with her Associates Degree in Business & Industry. Joy worked at National Beef Packing for 13 years, where she worked as a White Hat and met her husband Steve. She later went to work at the Liberal Area Vocational School and the advanced to be an Business & Industry Facilitator for SCCCATS; she had been with the college since the early 90’s. Joy enjoyed traveling, working in the yard, gardening, water aerobics and going to the casinos with her husband, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends! She was the glue that not only held her own family together, but was also there for many others as well; for that she will be sorely missed.She was a member of Redhats and an active Ambassador with the Liberal Chamber of Commerce for 17 years.
She is also survived by Two Sons- Robert Fosdick and wife Trina of Rolla, KS; Ryan Fosdick of Harleysville, PA; Three Grandchildren- Angelina Fosdick, Monte Fosdick and Kenneth Fosdick; her Sister – Sandra Eidson and her children, Steven L. Eidson and partner Brandie Jones of Rock Island, Illinois, Amanda Eidson and her partner Daniel Morales, Jr. and their children Cephas and Aaliyah of Liberal and Rachel Eidson of Denver, Colorado
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Viewing will be 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday March 30, 2018 at Miller Mortuary.
Memorial Service will 10:30 am Monday April 2, 2018 at First Christian Church with Pastor Terry Ford officiating.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers to send memorials to the Joy Fosdick Scholarship Memorial Fund in care of Seward County Community College and Technical School, PO Box 1137 Liberal, KS 67905-1137
