Joseph Donald “Joe” Krafft

Joseph Donald “Joe” Krafft, 88, of Liberal, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Brookdale Liberal Springs.
He was born on October 14, 1933, to William and Amy Wallace Krafft in Tulsa, OK.
On April 12, 1958, he married Alice Weikel in Tulsa, OK. Alice preceded him in death on April 20, 2019.

Joe graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and worked for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline for thirty years. He had a strong work ethic throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his family, square dancing with his wife, flying airplanes, and volunteering at the Liberal Air Museum. Joe also enjoyed working with his hands around the house and yard. He rarely called a repairman or mechanic because he preferred and was able to do it himself. He was a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church of Liberal where he was very involved in his church community. He helped extensively with church services and groundskeeping for much of his life. He served on the board of Birthline and supported similar organizations. Even at Brookdale Assisted Living, he arranged and led weekly devotions.

Joe is survived by his children – Edward Krafft of Liberal, KS; Catherine Barnett of San Angelo, TX; Mary Noon of Stilwell, KS; Diane Krafft of Overland Park, KS; Terri Hamel of Yukon, OK; Christopher Krafft of Louisburg, KS; Bill Krafft of Kansas City, MO; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Betty Krafft Shelton, Bill, Jack, Bob, and Jane Krafft.

Viewing will be 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm on Monday, September 26, 2022, at Miller Mortuary.

Rosary Service will be 7:00 pm Monday, September 26, 2022, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

Burial will take place in the Liberal City Cemetery.
