Joseph A Martinez

Joseph A. Martinez, 77, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS.

He was born December 21, 1935 at Liberal, KS, the son of Florencio and Simona (Jiron) Martinez.

He married Mary Jolene Fronk on June 15, 1962 at Liberal, KS. She preceded him in death on November 20, 1984.

Joe was a graduate of Liberal High School class of 1955. He was the Owner/Manager for Bearing Headquarters in Industrial Distribution for over 50 years before retiring in 2008. Joe was a master of pranks and nicknames, he also enjoyed football, racing, golf, fishing and boating. He was a long standing board member of the Trinity Faith Church and a member of Liberal Elks Lodge.

His survivors include 1 Son – Darrin Fronk and wife Tammi of Joppa, AL; 2 Daughters – Cindy Velasquez and husband Joe of Turpin, OK, Steffani D Martinez of Liberal, KS; 2 Brothers – John Martinez of Liberal, KS, Leno Martinez of Odenville, AL; 2 Sisters – Virginia Gonzales of Liberal, KS, Carmen Duran of Wichita, KS. 4 Grandchildren- Darrin Fronk II, Taylor Velasquez, Tara Fronk, and Cassidy Velasquez. 1 Great Grandchild- Kelee Fronk.

He was also preceded in death by 1 Grandson – Joseph Alfonso Velasquez, 4 Brothers and 3 Sisters.

Visitation will be 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm Sunday December 1, 2013 at Miller Mortuary.

Funeral Ceremony will be Monday December 2, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Trinity Faith Church with Rev. James E. Wallis Celebrating.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association in care of Miller Mortuary.
