Jose Luis Rivas

Jose Luis Rivas, 56, died on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Ulysses, Kansas.

The son of Faustino & Esperanza (Garcia) Rivas, he was born on January 7, 1959, Cd Jauarez Chihuahua, Mexico.

He and Christina Vazquez were married on June 20, at Chihuahua, Mexico.

He was a farm labor. He loved to have his family. He enjoyed riding four-wheelers, playing pool and shooting guns.

Survivors include his wife, Christina Rivas, Ulysses, KS; four sons, Jose Rivas & wife Myra, Ulysses, KS, Charlie Rivas & Ivon, Elpeso, TX; Miguel Rivas, Ulysses, KS; Dimitry Rivas, Ulysses, KS; a daughter, Clarybeth Rivas & husband David Garza, Ulysses, KS; mother, Esperanza Garcia Rivas, Mexico; three brothers, Arturo Rivas & wife Maria, Ulysses, KS, Faustino Rivas & wife Rosie, Ulysses, KS, Fernando Rivas & wife Alma, Mexico; a sister, Cecilia Rivas, Mexico; four grandchildren, Michelle Rivas, Isailh Garza, Aaliah Garza and Myles Garza and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, sister, Maricela Meraz.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Grant County Funeral Home, Ulysses, KS and burial at Ulysses Cemetery, Ulysses, KS.

Grant County Funeral Home, Ulysses is in charge of arrangements.
