Jose Alejandro Cuevas Barragan, 18, died Friday, October 15, 2021, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.
He was born on May 9, 2003, in Liberal, to Jose Dolores Cuevas and Maricela Barragan.
Jose was a Senior at Liberal High School. He enjoyed playing video games and liked sports cars. His favorite color was baby blue, and his favorite team was the Raiders. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his mother, Maricela Barragan and his stepfather, Pastor Rivas, of Liberal.

Kayla Cuevas of Liberal, Kansas.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jose, and sister Emily Cuevas.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, KS from 9 am to 5 pm.
Vigil Rosary will be on Tuesday at 7 pm at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N Calhoun Ave, Liberal.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 am on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Juan Salas.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in Liberal.
