John Paul Montz Jr

John Paul Montz Jr., 48, of Liberal died on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, KS.

John was born on April 16, 1972 to John Paul Montz Sr. and (Laura) Christy Maher at the Great Lakes Naval Hospital in Shields, IL.

He married Sandra Kae Ball in 1993 in Kismet, KS; they later divorced and she preceded in death.

John enjoyed playing games, being on his computer, spending time with his granddaughter, Nevaeh, and being with his dog, Cocoa. He was very inquisitive.
He had a long fight with cancer, beating it three times before his passing of melanoma of the brain.

He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Christine Montz of Liberal, KS; his dad, John Paul Montz Sr. of Premont, TX; sister, Dianna Hale of Lufkin, TX; brother, David Montz of San Antonio, TX; step-daughter, Victoria Anne Corral of Liberal, KS; step-son, Damon James Watt, of Fort Collins, CO; 6 grandchildren and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Christy Maher and one niece, Charlie.

A private family viewing will be held at Miller Mortuary with cremation to follow.
