John D. Peters

John Dale Peters, 80, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Liberal Good Samaritan Center in Liberal, KS.

He was born August 3, 1933 in Beaver County, OK, to Marion and Mildred Dale Peters.

John graduated Turpin High School, class of 1952 and attended college at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK for 1 year. he then returned to the family farm where he was a good steward of the land until his health began to fail, retiring in 2003 He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Liberal.

He married Inabelle Jenkins March 11, 1959 at Ponca City, OK., to this union three children were born. She Survives.

He is also survived by his wife Inabelle of Liberal, KS; 1 Daughter – Valerie Peters & Family of Oklahoma City, OK. 2 Sons – Brad Peters and wife Susan & Family of Turpin, OK, Chris Peters of Liberal, KS; 1 Brother – Robert Peters of Oklahoma City, OK; 7 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister – Ann Pattin.

Visitation will be Monday, December 30, 2013 from 12:00 Noon – 8:00 pm at Miller Mortuary.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Miller Mortuary Chapel with Stan Lehnert officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church – 1551 N. Western Ave. Liberal, KS 67901 and the Liberal Good Samaritan Center – 2160 Zinnia Lane Liberal, KS 67901 in care of Miller Mortuary.
