Joan T. Trahern, 92, of Liberal, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Twin Oaks Manor in Booker, TX.

She was born on December 6, 1929 to Bernard and Mildred (Broscha) Regier at Newton, KS.

On November 14, 1952 she married Dale Trahern in Oklahoma City, OK; he preceded her in death.

Joan grew up in Hesston, KS near Newton, KS. She was a graduate of Newton High School and went on to attend Southwestern College in Winfield, KS. She moved to Plains, KS in 1948 where she was a second grade school teacher. While living in Plains she met Dale Trahern; whom she later married. In 1970 she and Dale moved from Cushing, OK to Liberal, KS. Joan worked as a Bookkeeper for Holiday Inn, Tradewinds, and Liberal Truck Service. She was a previous member of the Eastern Star and numerous bridge clubs throughout the years. Joan was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing bridge, reading, stitching, plus started quilting when she was 78. She also enjoyed antiquing, genealogy, playing games & cards with her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Liberal.

Joan is survived by her Two Daughters, Cindy Trentham and husband James of Balko, OK, Rhonda Trahern of Winfield, KS; Sister, Gail Grimm of Rose Hill, KS; Four Grandchildren, Katherine Denise Tully of Tahlequah, OK, Carrie Trentham of Henderson, NV, Danielle Salinas and husband Elijah of Colorado Springs, CO, and Matthew Trentham and wife Antoinette of Balko, OK; 11 Great Grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Son, Doug Trahern, Sister, Leah Welsh, and Sister, Rachel Penner.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the Miller Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Todd Carr, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Miller Mortuary PO Box 826 Liberal, KS. 67905-0826
