Jimmie A. Main, age 77, of Ulysses, Kansas was born January 23, 1934 to L.E. (Jim) McGillivray and Rosamond Hale (Roberts) McGillivray. She died October 30, 2011 at 8:38 AM at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas.

Jimmie was born in Meade, Kansas and moved to rural Ulysses with her family in 1941. She attended Ulysses schools graduating from Ulysses Rural High School. Jimmie attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson graduating in 1953. She also attended the Colorado Graduate School of Banking along with many other banking schools and seminars. Jimmie married Loren Wayne Main September 28, 1953. Jimmie was employed at Grant County State Bank from 1952 to 1984, holding various positions becoming a Vice President in 1976. From 1984 – 1991 she was employed by Garden National Bank (Bank IV) in Garden City, Kansas. She returned to Ulysses in 1991 and was employed at Southwestern Bank until her retirement. Jimmie was past president of the State of Kansas National Association of Banking Women and Finney County Women’s Chamber and a member of Downtown Association. She served on the Boards of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, Tumbleweed Girl Scouts, and Crossroads Board of Directors.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Main Watt and husband Joe of Winfield, Kansas, Gayla Feldman, Gary Main and wife Stephanie of Ulysses, Kansas; brother, Robert McGillivray of Denton, Texas; sister, Jackie Eaken of Alaska; grandchildren, Sam Main, Lynn and Valarie Main, Melissa (Beckett) and Eric Arndt, Keley Main, Ashley and Erin Watt, Madison Flaherty; and great grandson, Camden.

Jimmie was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Loren Main

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Bill Harrold officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Shelton Memorial Christian Church Scholarship Fund or the Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
