Jimmie LeRoy Riley Jr., age 56, of Goddard, Kansas went to meet Jesus on January 27, 2016, at Via Christi Medial Center – St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas. He was born June 21, 1959, in Elkhart, Kansas the son of Jim Sr. and Delores Ann (Sanders) Riley.

Jimmie grew up in Elkhart and graduated from Elkhart High School. He later attended Dodge City Community College and studied Drug and Alcohol Counseling. Jimmie started as a counselor at New Chance in Dodge City and retired from Cimarron Basin Community Corrections in Liberal, Kansas. He lived in Tyrone, Oklahoma for 19 years before moving to Goddard in June 2014. Jimmie was involved in the Elk’s Lodge in Liberal and played poker with numerous clubs. Family was important to Jimmie. He was a sports fan of the Eisenhower Tigers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Kansas University Jayhawks.

Survivors include two daughters, Jacque Moore and husband Tate of Goddard, Kansas, and Whitney Riley of Wichita, Kansas; brother, Michael Riley of Elkhart, Kansas; sister, Brenda Riley of Elkhart, Kansas; five grandchildren, Lykota Moore, Justis Moore, Mylana Moore, Ariyah Moore, and Adam Brown; one great-grandchild, Rayden Gideon; nieces and nephews, Johnny Riley, Jessica Riley, Jourdan Riley, TaNay Escalera, Katrina Sanchez, and Joshua Riley; aunt and uncle, Debbie and Virgil Worth of Elkhart, Kansas; aunt, Peggy Sanders of Wyoming; and many other family and friends.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Delores Riley; grandparents, Karl and Irene Riley; aunt, Patricia Tangney; uncle, Ricky Sanders; and cousin, Bart Tangney”.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the First Church of God in Elkhart, Kansas with Pastors Ken Willard and Tom Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Elkhart Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
