Jimmie E. Nicholas, 84, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal. He was born July 2, 1929 in Stafford County, Kansas, in the Antrim Community, the son of D.W. and Nellie E. (Loftin) Nicholas.

He married Mary Clarice Kelly on March 30, 1965 in Perryton, TX. She preceded him in death on February 28, 1998.

He graduated from Antrim High School, in Stafford County, Kansas.

He was a retired Switchman for the Rock Island Railroad for 27 years, he retired in 1992. He and his late wife Clarice also operated a cattle ranch north of Liberal they began in 1974. He also worked in the lumber Business for 7 ½ years, as well as the radio and television business, Channel # 6 Ensign, that covered Pratt, Newton, Dodge City, and Garden City and the Liberal area, before becoming a Railroad Clerk in 1963.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garden City, Kansas, where he and his daughter Jobeth were Baptised together the same day.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Clarice, a stillborn Son, 1 Daughter Jobeth Terkillsen, and 1 infant Brother.

Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Friday, June 20, 2014, at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel, Liberal. With Pastor Jack Jacob presiding.

Visitation: 5 – 8 pm Thursday, and 9 am until service time on Friday.

Burial: Tyrone Cemetery, Tyrone, OK
