Jesse H. Saucedo, age 94, passed away Thursday afternoon, February 24, 2022, at the Meade District Hospital, Meade, Kansas.

He was born April 18, 1927, at Fort McKavett, Texas, the son of Enrique and Clarita (Fernandez) Saucedo. As a young boy he attended school in Menard, Texas. After his schooling, the family traveled from Texas to Meade for many years. On August 8, 1961, he married Antonia (Toni) Gonzales at Benjamin, Texas. Later in 1963, the couple moved to Meade where he worked as a laborer and as a custodian for Meade USD 226 for twenty-three years.

He was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church and attended the Beam Senior Center. He enjoyed playing bingo, shearing sheep, attending sporting events, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Toni Gonzalez, Jesse Jr. (Linda) Saucedo, Faye (Steve) Wells, Nefro (Martha) Saucedo; siblings, Francisca Contreas, Irene Chavez, Andrea Ramirez, Rosa (Tony)Molina, John Saucedo, Ector (Araceli) Saucedo; grandchildren, Jeri Garcia, Mari (Gerardo) Holguin, Victoria (Martin) Zamora, Jorge (Brooke) Almeida, Rosemary (Alfredo) Juarez, Corina (Jose) Cadena, Jose Jr. (Cendy) Gonzalez, Jazmin (Ricardo) Macias, Jason (Elizabeth) Gonzalez, Tyler Saucedo, Amara Saucedo, Micah (Addison) Winger, Gideon Wells, Hailey Saucedo, Hayes Saucedo, Hayden Saucedo & many great & great-great grandchildren.

He is proceeded in death by his wife Toni on June 20, 2012, children, Rosemary Saucedo and Ramona Almeida; his parents; brothers- Able & Enrique Saucedo; and sisters-Maria Limon, Erlinda Saucedo.

Vigil services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Meade. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.

The family would welcome memorials to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or the Beam Senior Center in care of the funeral home.
