Jean Easterday

Jean Easterday , 98, passed away July 1, 2016, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade, Kansas.
She was born January 3, 1918, in rural Fowler, to Dave and Elizabeth Brownlee of Fowler. On June 3, 1935, she married Rusty Easterday and they lived on a farm outside of Meade. After his death in 1966 she moved her house to Meade, where she resided most of her remaining years.
She is survived by her son Dave Easterday and his wife Wilda; her daughter Cheryl Sharick and her husband Merle; five granddaughters, Heather, Kyla and Dara Easterday; Amber and Cami Sharick; three great-grandchildren, Malalai, Bella, and Evie Sharick-Duckworth.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Dixie, Hazel, Isabel, and Mary.
Jean will be remembered as a woman of strength, courage, and love whose spirituality shined above all else.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the United Methodist Church, Meade. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday with the family present from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.
The family would welcome memorials to the United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
