Jay D. Bloesser, age 82, died July 3, 2022, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, Ulysses, Kansas. He was born March 1, 1940, in Kingman, Kansas, the son of Lawrence and Sylvia (Brown) Bloesser.
Jay grew up at Tribune, KS and graduated from Greeley County High School, he then attended Salt City Business School in Hutchinson, KS. A longtime Ulysses, KS resident, he spent many years working in an auto parts store. Jay also worked as a truck driver for Collectia Ltd. After retiring he enjoyed being a scale operator at Cactus Feeders. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, enjoyed classic cars, but most of all he loved his family and time spent on brothers trips to Colorado and playing Wahoo with his grandchildren.
Jay married Wanda Chilson on June 6, 1959, in Tribune, KS; she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Rick Bloesser of Howard, CO, and Rocky Bloesser and wife Gaye of Colorado Springs, CO; one daughter, Ronda Waechter and husband Troy of Ulysses, KS; two brothers, Brock Bloesser of Tennesse and Orville Bloesser of Howard, CO; two sisters, Beverly Stewart of Pratt, KS and Janice Lathrope and husband Larry of Lake Havasu, AZ; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Jay is preceded in death by his parents; son, Randy Bloesser; brother, Larry Bloesser; and grandson, Karlton Waechter.
Memorial Service will be Monday, July 18, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at Garand Funeral Home Chapel, Ulysses, KS with Pastor James Berry officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Memorials may be given to Women of Purpose or Country View Baptist Church both in care are of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W.
