Javier Uribe Jr., known affectionately as Javis, age 26, died on Monday, June 24, 2024, in Santa Rosa, New Mexico.

He was born on August 23, 1997, in Lubbock, Texas, to Javier and Francisca (Teran) Aguilar Uribe.

Javis grew up in Liberal, Kansas and graduated from Liberal High School in 2016. He attended K-State University and worked for RES Cable Spicer.

He was recognized for his infectious smile and remembered for being affectionate, sociable, helpful, supportive, generous, charismatic, and yes, even stubborn by those who knew him best. Javis impact went far beyond his immediate circle. His deep love for animals was evident in his close bond with his canine companions, Roko and Hank.

Above all else, Javis cherished his relationships. He was a pillar of strength and support for both friends and family members. His aunts held a special place in his heart, and he treated his cousins like they were his own brothers. Javis’s loyalty knew no bounds when it came to those he loved, which included Maya, with whom he planned a promising future.

Visitation will be 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, July 1, 2024, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel. Presided by Pastor Marcelinu Miranda.

A burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery.
