Jason Stanley Kenny, age 47, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses. He was born September 20, 1970, in Goodland, Kansas, the son of Stanley Shoop and Dolores E. (Newell) Kenny.

Jason grew up in Sharon Springs and graduated in 1989 from Sharon Springs High School. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Kansas State University and a Master’s Degree from Fort Hays State University in 1999. In August 1994, Jason began teaching Social Studies and coaching at Ulysses High School. He married Andrea Dennis on June 6, 1998, in Goodland, Kansas. In 2000, he became the Head Football Coach; and in 2009, he took the position of Athletic Director. He was elected to be the head coach of the west squad, going on to win the 2005 Shrine Bowl. The same year, he was awarded the Key to the City of Ulysses. Jason enjoyed football, family time at the lake, hunting and fishing.

Jason is survived by his wife, Andrea of Ulysses; children, Kali, Koy and Cami Kenny all of the home; mother, Dolores Kenny of Goodland, Kansas; sisters, Dawn Mayer and husband Bob of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Becki Carpenter of Brewster, Kansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Jason is preceded in death by his father, Stanley, in 2014.

Funeral service will be Friday, July 27, 2018, at 10:00 AM (CST) at Ulysses High School Gymnasium in Ulysses with Reverend Todd Guinn officiating. Graveside service will be Friday, July 27, 2018, at 4:00 PM (MST) at Goodland Cemetery in Goodland, Kansas. There will be no calling hours.
