Jason “Bubba” Smith, age 49, died Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

He was born on December 17, 1973, the son of Anthony Smith and Denise (Rock) Smith. Jason graduated from Turpin High School and went on to play one year of football at Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma before graduating from Northwest Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma. He was a mechanic by heart – he just knew it no matter what it was. He owned Bubba’s Diesel after being a successful service manager.

Jason lived a very full life living for today and enjoying all things he could be a part of.

Jason was the proud father of two, Addelea Mae Smith and Jaidey Belle Smith of Camdenton, Missouri. He enjoyed his Harley, playing pool, collecting coins, watching the Raiders football, spending time with friends and family, and keeping his hands busy tinkering in the shop. He will be profoundly missed by all that knew him. He was always available to help and care for anyone he could, family, friends, or strangers.

He is survived by his children, Addelea Mae Smith and Jaidey Belle Smith of Camdenton, Missouri, mother, Denise Boyd and her husband, Ron of Turpin, Oklahoma, father, Anthony Smith and his wife, Carole of Hydro, Oklahoma, and brother, Tim Smith of Turpin, Oklahoma.

Preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Cleta Rock, and Darrell and Judy Smith.

A Celebration of Life for Jason Wayne “Bubba” Smith will be on Saturday, October 28th, 2023 at 10 am at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel.

A burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver, Oklahoma.
