Jasmin Garcia, age 29, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on January 26, 1996, in Johnson, Kansas, the daughter of Omar and Maggie (Romero) Garcia.
Jasmin grew up in Ulysses and graduated from Moscow High School in 2014. She furthered her education at Seward County Community College, Garden City Community College, and studied medical office assistant at Stratford Career Institute. She was currently working at El Ranchito Café but had worked the majority of her life at their family-owned Garcia’s Restaurant. Jasmin loved going to her daughter’s events and activities, time spent with family, and attending her nieces and nephews’ activities. She will be remembered for always making people laugh.
Jasmin is survived by her daughter, Zaylinn Flores Garcia of Ulysses; parents, Omar and Maggie Garcia of Ulysses; brothers, Rey Garcia and wife, Laura Barron, and Omar Garcia and wife, Anneth Carrasco, all of Ulysses; sisters, Yesenia Garcia of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gladys Garcia of Olathe, and Claudia Garcia of Garden City, Kansas; nieces and nephews, J’Cob Porras, Roman Garcia, Christian Garcia, Joziah Valdez, Kaylin Garcia, Analeah Garcia, Santiago Garcia, Genisis Garcia, Max Garcia III, and Abel Porras; five maternal aunts and one uncle; two paternal aunts and one uncle; cousins and extended family and friends.
Jasmin is preceded in death by her grandparents, Dionicio and Alicia Marquez Garcia and Gloria and David Romero; aunt, Lydia Trujillo; uncle, David Romero, Jr.; nephew, J’Son Porras; and cousins, Alberto Delgado and Katie Pauda.
Rosary will be Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 7:00 PM and Funeral Mass will be Friday, March 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Eric Gyamfi officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
