Janie Marie Barr

Janie Marie Barr, 54, a longtime resident of Liberal, passed away January 28th, 2016 at her home.
She was born on June 17th, 1961 in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Irvin E. “Slim” Cook and Betty L. (Coon) Cook. She graduated from Rolla High School in 1979, and attended Seward County Community College.
Janie was employed by the Seward County Landfill as a heavy equipment operator.
On March 29th, 1982 she married Donald Barr Jr. in Reno, NV. He survives.
Survivors include:
Her Daughter – Misty and her husband Albert Gallegos, of Liberal, KS
Her Granddaughter – Summer Skye Gallegos of Liberal, KS
Brother – David and his wife, Diane Kitt, of Cave Creek, AZ
Sister – Jo Ellen and her husband Dan Martin of Liberal, KS.
Other survivors include many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and niece, Stephanie Urwin.
Memorial service will be at the Brenneman Funeral Home chapel, on Saturday, February 6th at 10:00 am with Pastor Terry Engler officiating.
Family requests those attending please wear something pink in honor of Janie.
A private family inurnment will follow at a later date.
