Janet D. Lewis, 75, of rural Turpin, OK passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at her home.

She was born on September 17, 1948 to Harry and Freema (Lyon) Deck at Wichita, KS.

On January 14, 1978 she married Daniel J. Lewis at Wichita, KS.

Janet was a graduate of East High School of Wichita, KS; class of 1966. She went on to obtain her Bachelor’s
Degree in Education from Wichita State University and her Master’s Degree from Fort Hays State University.
Janet had owned and operated Prairie Trails Quilting Shop near her home and taught a Quilting Class for 4H and
SCCC. For a period of time Janet and Dan raised Quarter Horses.

She enjoyed many hobbies including quilting, sewing, wheat weaving, paper quilling, tatting, stamping, and
woodworking. She also enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden, cooking, baking pies, and she loved to fish!

Janet was a member of the Needles & Friends Quilt Guild and the First Presbyterian Church in Liberal where she
had served and an Deacon, Elder, and Clerk of Session.

Janet is survived by her loving husband Dan, three sisters, Deborah (Ron) Butts of Celina, TX, Freema (Curtis) Covey
of Derby, KS, Tressa (Tom) Carr of Independence, KS; seven nieces and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents

There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.

A Memorial Service date & time will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests Memorials to the First Presbyterian Church in care of Miller Mortuary PO Box 826 Liberal, KS.
