James R. Spooner

James R. Spooner, 70, Ulysses, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, Ulysses, Kansas.

He was born to Reginald and Gloria (Marks) Spooner on July 12, 1951, Easton, Maryland.

James and Shirley Jean Lipscomb were married on July 29, 1978, Ulysses, Kansas.

James attended the Rose Lane Church of God, Ulysses.

Jim’s hobbies were singing, collecting, storytelling, fixing up things and helping others.

Survivors include wife, Shirley Spooner, Ulysses, Kansas; three sons, Rick Howard, Ulysses, Kansas, Jeff Howard and wife Angie, Meade, Kansas, Nathan Spooner and wife Janina, Johnson, Kansas; two brothers, Jeff Spooner and wife Kathy, St. Mary, GA, Rick Spooner, Moultrie, GA; one sister, Sandra Anderson and husband Don, Florida; grandchildren, Abie Howard, Braden Howard, Caleb Howard, Sandra Spooner, Logan Spooner, Grace Murray, Cierra Murray and many other friends and family members.

James is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial has been established for the Church of God Children of Cleveland, Ohio. Memorials may be mailed to Robson Funeral Home, 218 S. Main Street, Ulysses, Kansas 67880.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 9, 2021, 12 PM to 8 PM, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM, Robson Funeral Home, Ulysses, KS. The family viewing will be from 6 PM to 8 PM, on this Thursday.

Funeral service will be held Friday, September 10, 2021, 2 PM, Rose Lane Church of God, Ulysses, Kansas.
