James Jay “Jim” Earnest, 73, of Tyrone, OK passed away on Friday January 24, 2025 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Liberal, KS.
He was born on August 29, 1951 to Donald and Florence (Boxberger) Earnest at Russell, KS.
Jim was a graduate of Liberal High School; class of 1969. Shortly after graduating he enlisted into the US Army where he served as a Tank Commander & Buck Sergeant in Germany. He worked as a Truck Driver for Booker Transportation out of Booker, TX and was also an owner/operator for many years. Jim was an avid Harley Davidson rider who loved riding in Poker Runs and making a couple tripsto Strurgis on his Heritage Classic Softail. He also enjoyed cooking and maintaining his manicured lawn. Jim was a life member of the VFW.
Jim is survived by Two Step Daughters, Crystal Ratzlaff of Turpin, OK, Jennifer Montenegro of League City, TX; Four Sisters, Sharla Diane Juvenal of Oklahoma City, OK, Linda LeBlanc of Longview, TX, Dawana Grow of Wichita, KS, Shona Ratzlaff of Wichita, KS; Three Brothers, Marvin Earnest of Moriarty, NM, Gerald Earnest, and Ronald Earnest of Buffulo, OK.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sister, Peggy Stanphill, and partner of 20 years, Terri Delay.
There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place per Jim’s wishes.
