James Clinton Price Buck

James Clinton Price Buck, age 86, of Elkhart , Kansas died September 14, 2011 at Morton County Care Center in Elkhart , Kansas . He was born June 28, 1925 in Kirbyville , Missouri the son of William Aua and Julia Lovida (Gibson) Buck.

Clinton ’s first year of school was in Lone Star, Missouri where his Dad was the teacher. The next fall, his family moved to Stuart , Oklahoma ; where he enrolled in the White Chimney School . He finished 8th grade there and then attended Stuart High School . Before he left for the service, Clinton married Dorothy Lucille Beck on June 22, 1945 in Kiowa, Oklahoma . Clinton served in the Army from October 13, 1945 thru November 8, 1946 . After he was discharged from the Army, he and Dorothy moved several times in Kansas , Missouri , before settling in Guymon , Oklahoma . Clinton retired from G.T. E. where he was a telephone equipment installer and repairman. After retiring in 1987, Clinton and Dorothy enjoyed traveling. On January 9, 2007 , Dorothy passed away after 62 years of marriage with Clinton . On December 9, 2007 Clinton married Leota Pearl Lybarger. They resided in Elkhart , Kansas . Clinton enjoyed fishing and camping and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elkhart , and Good Neighbor Sams club.

Survivors include his wife, Leota (Lybarger) Buck of Elkhart, Kansas; son, Lane Buck and wife Rebecca of Anthony, Kansas; two daughters, Darlene Tiffin and husband Floyd of Amarillo, Texas, Debra England and husband Terry of Buffalo, Oklahoma; two sisters, Audra Danderson of Highlandville, Missouri, Eloise Brown and husband Bob of Highlandville, Missouri; two brothers, William R. Buck and wife Bernice of Channelview, Texas, Bob L. Buck and wife Joyce of Perryton, Texas; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Clinton is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy L. Buck; brother, C. Aubry Buck; sister, Pearl Grant; and great-grandchildren, Maddox and Malori Cotter.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Elkhart , Kansas with Pastor Ed Richards officiating. Graveside service will be at the High Point Cemetery in Buffalo , Oklahoma at 2:30 PM with Military Rites conducted by Lavern – Buffalo American Legion. Friends may call Friday, September 16, 2011 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart , Kansas . Memorials may be given to the Morton County Care Center or First Baptist Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 854 , Elkhart , KS 67950 .
