Jade Caitlin Burroughs, age 23, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014 near Corona, New Mexico. She was born May 6, 1991 in Johnson, Kansas the daughter of Kevin E. and Alisha (Yohn) Helmle.
She was home schooled and then obtained her GED from Seward County Community College. She completed some college courses, earning her a place on the Part-time Dean’s Honor Roll for receiving a 3.5 grade average in all of her classes. On June 2, 2013, she married Dustin Burroughs in Corona, New Mexico. She was a homemaker, Sunday school teacher, and was always willing to give a helping hand when it was needed. She constantly played the piano and sang. She especially loved to play and sing for church. She loved sewing, even making her own wedding dress and clothes for herself. She was a devout Christian, beloved wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband, Dustin Burroughs of Corona, New Mexico; daughter, Anna Rose Burroughs of Corona, New Mexico; mother, Alisha Helmle of Lakin, Kansas; and siblings, Kisa Helmle and Rock Helmle both of Lakin, Kansas; grandparents, David and Patricia Yohn of Ulysses, Kansas, and Charles Helmle of Johnson, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kevin E. Helmle; and grandmother, Emma Helmle.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Country View Baptist Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Sam Bynum officiating. Interment will follow at the Shockey Cemetery in Grant County, Kansas. Friends may call Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. A funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Corona, New Mexico with Pastor Cal West officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the Country View Baptist Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
