Jacob William Ferrell

On June 7, 2003, the world was gifted with a witty, smart, generous, and reliable soul by the name of Jacob William Ferrell. Known to many as “Jakey” or “The Jakster,” Jacob entered the world in Liberal, Kansas, and spent a total of 19 adventurous years in Sublette and Satanta, Kansas. Although Jacob’s time with us was cut short on May 17, 2023, his impact on those who knew him will be remembered fondly and will continue to bring joy and laughter to those who loved him.

Jacob had been in employed in the meat packing industry since graduating from high school. Jacob enjoyed hanging out with friends, watching sports, playing video games, spending time with family, dirt track racing, and loving cars. But what mattered most to Jacob was being a hard worker and a wonderful father to his daughter, Skya. His family was an important part of his life, and his love for them was evident in everything he did. Jacob was a baptized member of the Western Avenue Church of Christ where he shared his talents as a song leader.

Jake was an “onery” feedyard kid who, in his 19 years, lived more life and touched more lives than most do in a lifetime. He was one of a kind and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Jacob is survived by his parents, Eric and Tabitha Ferrell of Sublette, KS; his fiancé, LaTristae Torres of Satanta, KS; daughter, Skya Michelle Grace Ferrell of Satanta, KS; paternal grandparents, Ed & Sandy Ferrell of Hennessy, OK; maternal grandfather, Dean Ashlock of Hennessy, OK; in addition, he is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins with whom he was very close; and friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Almeta Ashlock.
