Iva Jean Wisby, age 93, passed away Thursday, December7, 2017, at the Via Christi Village on Ridge, Wichita, Kansas.
She was born March 31, 1924, at Larned, Kansas, the daughter of Harley and Elva (Miles) Fulton. As a young girl she attended Liberty Knoll Elementary School and was a 1942 graduate of Plains High School.
On December 28, 1942, she married Lawrence Gerald Wisby at Hutchinson, Kansas. After their marriage the couple made their home in rural Plains where they farmed for many years. In 1985, she moved to Liberal and later to Wichita to be near her family.
She was a member of the Plains Baptist Church and a local hobby club. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, playing the piano, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Jantz and husband Kirby of Wichita, Diana Rice and husband Jerrie of Maize, Kansas, and Gloria Goodwin of Kansas City, Missouri; her twin sister Jane Horton of Granby, Missouri; a stepbrother, Tex Fulton; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband on July 8, 1994; her parents; two stepbrothers, Charles and Keith Fulton; and a stepsister, Beverly Donley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2017, at the Via Christi Village on Ridge Chapel, Wichita. Interment will follow the service on Friday, December 15, 2017, at 11:00 a.m.
The family would welcome memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, Kansas.
