Isidoro “Chiro” Castillo

Isidoro “Chiro” Castillo, age 46, of Ulysses, Kansas died Friday, December 5, 2014 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born April 2, 1968 in Durango, Mexico, the son of Emilio Castillo and Celia (Pichardo) Diaz.

Isidoro married Marivel Valdez on September 14, 1991 in Durango, Mexico. They have lived in Ulysses for the last 20 years. Isidoro was raised in the Catholic Faith. Isidoro worked for Seaboad Farms. He enjoyed Rodeo, Hoses, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Marivel of the home; daughter, Carmina Castillo of Gruver, Texas. Adamaris Castillo, of Ulysses, Kansas; brothers, Emilio Castillo of Monterrey, Mexico. Francisco Castillo, Ruben Castillo, Rigoberto Castillo, all of Ulysses, Kansas. Sisters, Celia Castillo, Matilda Castillo, Mariann Castillo, and Rosa Castillo all of Durango, Mexico; parents, Emilio Castillo and Celia (Pichardo) Diaz of Durango, Mexico.

Vigil service will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 5:30 PM and funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Peter Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM; Monday 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, Kansas Memorial contributions may be given to the Isidoro Castillo Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
