Irma Genevieve “Genny” Swan passed away peacefully on January 21, 2016, at the Stanton County Long Term Care Home in Johnson, Kansas. Genny was born on May 4, 1937 in York, Nebraska, to James and Irma (Salmon) Belcher.

Genny moved to Johnson in 1997. Struggling with MS for many years, she fought to never let it get the best of her. Genny’s thoughts were always so full of her family, especially her Grandkids whom she was always there for. She loved life, visiting with friends and family, and playing cards. She taught us to never let anything get you down. She lived by the motto, “No matter how bad things get, you have the power to fix them.”

She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Kathy and Gretchen.

Family held a private memorial service at Stanton County Long Term Care.

The family requests that memorial gifts be made to Stanton County Memorial Fund PO Box 779 Johnson, KS 67855.
