Ignacio “Nacho” Sanchez Rodriguez,

Ignacio “Nacho” Sanchez Rodriguez, age 83, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Thursday, May 25, 2017, at his home in Ulysses, Kansas.  He was born February 1, 1934, in Sinton, Texas, the son of Apolonio and Antonia (Sanchez) Rodriguez.

Nacho grew up in Texas and moved to Ulysses in 1959. He married Ramona Rodriguez in 1954 in Brownfield, Texas. Nacho worked for Seger Farms, Ulysses Irrigation, Ansel Manufacturing, Happy Painters, Richard Rudzik, and at Dave’s Venture Foods.  

He is survived by his children, Augustine Rodriguez of Wyoming, Ruth Reyna of Ulysses, Johnnie Rodriguez of Oklahoma, Mary Montanez of Ulysses, David Rodriguez of Ulysses, Molly Rodriguez of Ulysses; two brothers, Elisandro Urrea of Oregon, Apolonio Rodriguez of Ulysses; sisters, Victoria Rodriguez, Celia Rodriguez, Virginia Cavasos, and Guadalupe Hernandez all of Ulysses; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Nacho is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ramona in 1986; two brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter.

Vigil service will be held Monday, May 29, 2017, at 7:00 PM and funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Peter Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, May 29, 2017, from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to Ignacio Rodriguez Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
