Ignacio G. Perez

Ignacio G. Perez, age 86, died Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born February 1, 1934, in Cameron County, Texas, the son of Alejandro and Bisenta (Galban) Perez.

Ignacio, known by family and friends as Pete or Nacho, was born and raised in Texas. He married Dolores Hernandez on September 28, 1952, in Navasota, Texas. She preceded him in death on February 25, 2017. Together they relocated to Ulysses where they raised a family of eight children. Ignacio was a dedicated member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista Church. During his time in Ulysses, Ignacio worked as a backhoe operator and welder for Ulysses Irrigation Pipe Company and T&L Irrigation.

Ignacio is survived by his sons, Eloy Perez and wife Mary, Ignacio Perez Jr., Candelario Perez and wife Rebbecca all of Ulysses, Kansas, Johnnie Perez of Lubbock, Texas; daughters, Yolanda Hernandez and husband Martin Sr., Tina Ochoa and husband Eddie, Melissa Perez all of Ulysses, Kansas, Irene Perez and partner Humberto of Garden City, Kansas; 20 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Ignacio is preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother; four sisters; and granddaughter, Nora Perez.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Public visitation will be Monday, September 21, 2020, from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Garnand Funeral Home.
