Hallie M. Nix, 94, Kalispell, MT , a former Liberal resident, died
Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at her home in Kalispell, MT.
She was born January 12, 1917 in Baca County, CO, the daughter
of Charles B. & Mary S. Hardin Woodring.
She and her family came to Stevens County, KS in 1921.
Hallie worked at Ragsdale’s Grocery at Woods, KS, she and
her husband farmed west of Liberal in the Pleasant Valley Community .
She moved to Liberal in 1977 and to Kalispell to live with her daughter
in 2007.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church , McArthur Sunday
School Class , Liberal, and the Cloverleaf Home Extension Unit over
fifty years, ABS Circle, Southwest Medical Center Auxiliary volunteer.
Her hobbies included sewing, gardening and growing African violets .
On November 5 , 1935, she married Clarence M. Nix at Buffalo, OK,
he died April 15, 1974.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Nix, Kalispell, MT;
one brother, Earl Woodring and wife Louise, Kalispell, MT;
one sister, Dee Burton, Oklahoma City, OK ; three grandchildren,
Steve Nix and wife Susanne, Liberal, KS ; Phillip Nix and wife Sandy,
Liberal, KS; Tammy Blinco and husband Bruce, Kalispell, MT;
eight great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charles "Junior"
Woodring, sisters, Neoma Young & Georgia Zinn, son Loren Nix.
Graveside service will be 10:00 A.M. Monday at the Liberal
Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary 1-8 P.M. Sunday.
The famuily suggests that memorials be sent to American Heart
Association or to American Diabetes Association in care of the mortuary.
