Gwendolyn Berdell Jackson, 86, of Baker, Oklahoma passed away January 2, 2016 at Liberal Springs in Liberal, Kansas.
Gwendolyn was born December 9, 1932 in Baker, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ernest Homer and Avice Zelma Southern Armstrong. She attended elementary school in Baker then the family moved for three years to Wheat Ridge, Colorado, one year in Pueblo, Colorado then to Denver and graduated from Wheat Ridge high school with the Class of 1950.
On July 18, 1950 in Denver, Colorado, Gwendolyn was united in marriage to Ward B. Jackson. They made their first home in Denver, Grand Junction and later Pueblo, Colorado. In 1957 they moved to Baker where they farmed and made their home.
Gwendolyn was a member of the Baker United Methodist Church, the Baker Methodist Women, Baker Denim and Lace and Eastern Star. She was a part of the Ladies Golf Association at Willow Tree Golf Course in Liberal and the Panhandle Cattle Women.
She loved to paint and grew beautiful orchids in her greenhouse.
She is preceded in death by her grandson Brian Jackson, great grandson, Jackson Walden and son in law, Jeff Buchman.
Members of the family include her husband of 65 years, Ward of the home; son, Robbie & Janyth Jackson of Baker; daughters, Debra Jackson of Bullard, Texas and Cristine & David Rounds of Bullard, Texas; three grandchildren, Alisha & Skyler Walden of Amarillo, Texas, Tucker Buchman of Bullard, Texas and Tyler Buchman of Bullard, Texas.
Memorials are suggested to the Baker United Methodist Church and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745 Hooker, Oklahoma 73945.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Baker United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Baker with Rev. Todd Bergman officiating. Interment will follow in the Hooker Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Oklahoma.
