Guy Wesley Rorick

Guy Wesley Rorick, age 92, died on March 6, 2013 at the Bridge at Alamosa assisted living center. He was born on November 20, 1920 to Wesley David and Vera June (Fleming) Rorick on the Rorick homestead southwest of Manter, Kansas.
In 1939 Guy graduated from high school in Johnson, Kansas. He married Yvonne “Snooky” York in Johnson, Kansas on March 16, 1941.
Guy was a cattleman, a farmer and an excellent horseman. He bred and raced thoroughbred horses throughout seven states for many years. He later moved to La Veta in 1978. While in Colorado they lived near Rocky Ford, Swink, La Junta and Alamosa.
Surviving are his wife, Snooky, of Alamosa, Colorado; his three daughters: Marsha Jacquart and husband Robin of La Junta, Colorado, Sally Martin and husband Larry of Garden City, Kansas, Shawn Brack and husband John of McCracken, Kansas; his son Shane Rorick and wife Audra of South Fork, Colorado; his sister Oleta Ward of Eustis, Florida; as well as 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Gary Don Rorick, his granddaughter Lana Melane Rorick, his sisters Hazel Gay and infant Velma Pearl, and his infant brother Eldon Harold.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas.
