Guy Roy Rice, 58, went to his Eternal Home on Friday, April 29, 2016.
He was born January 7, 1958 at Fullerton, CA, the son of Milton and Eileen (Parks) Rice.
He married Jacque Cummins July 23, 1977 at Liberal, KS. She Survives.
Guy and his family moved to Liberal, KS in January of 1969. He was a class of 1976 graduate of Liberal High School was also a graduate of Seward County Community College. Guy enjoyed working and held numerous positions during his lifetime including working for Pepsi, Promotion Director for the Southgate Mall, and owning a number of trucking and delivery business’. He enjoyed traveling, baseball , his friends, business associates, family & grandkids. He was an announcer for the Liberal BeeJay’s, Seward County Saints- Former President of the Saints Booster Club, an active member of the Liberal Community. He also loved talking about the Lord and had a heart of gold! He was a member of Community of Christ Church of Woodward, OK,
He is also survived by one son- Tyson Rice and wife Mandy of Liberal, KS; one daughter- Denasa Rice of Liberal, KS; two sisters- LaWilda Hogan and husband Kelly of Broken Arrow, OK, Letitia Landry of Newport Richey, FL; mother in law- Bonnie Cummins of Liberal, KS; sister in law- Marjorie Gaddis and husband Scott of Urbana, MO; brother in law- Kenneth Cummins and wife Emily of Turpin, OK; one granddaughter- Brittney Cummins; two grandsons- Hudson Roy Rice, Caylon Boman Rice; four nieces- Lisa Landry, Ashten Beal, Kiffany Hogan-Maher, Tyonna Gaddis; two nephews- Todd Hogan, Michael Cummins. Several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter- Channing Jade Rice; father in law – C.B. Cummins; his maternal grandparents- Elmer and Ida Parks; paternal grandparents- Albert M. and Ada Rice.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm at the Believers Ministry Church located at 1071 S. Clay Ave. Liberal, KS.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday May 5, 2016 at First Southern Baptist Church of Liberal with Pete Persall officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Guy Rice Scholarship Trust c/o Community Bank in care of Miller Mortuary
