Guerrero G. Michel, age72, died Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society in Liberal, Kansas.

He was born on June 1, 1949, the son of Jorge Michel and Celia Guillen in Durango, Mexico.

Guerrero married Maria V. Soto on February 20, 1977, in Durango, Mexico. Together they raised two sons, Jesus and Guerrero Jr. and two daughters, Victoria and Celia. Guerrero worked in production at National Beef for many years. He also delivered cars for the car dealerships around Liberal. Guerrero was a wonderful gardener raising flowers, vegetables,
and trees. He loved being outdoors walking and counting his steps. He was a very proud and loving grandfather. He enjoyed his daily McDonald’s cokes.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Monday, May 9, 2022, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Rosary will follow at 7:00 PM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas with Rev. Juan Salas.

Graveside service to follow at the Liberal Cemetery.

Memorial Donations are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.
