Grover Bryan

Grover Bryan, 93, formerly of Liberal died from complications of
COVID-19  at the VA hospital in Temple, TX on February 3, 2021 in
Temple, TX.
Grover L. Bryan was born on December 8, 1927, in Holdenville, OK to
Ollie David Bryan and Agatha Lillie Sisk.
He was a proud veteran of World War II serving in Japan. Grover
graduated from Washburn University in 1954 with a Juris Doctor Law
degree. Grover settled in Liberal, KS where he was the patriarch of his
family with 3 sons and a daughter: Michael, Katie, Sean and Kevin.
Grover proudly served as Scoutmaster for Local Boy Scout Troop 47 where
all 3 sons attained Eagle Scout. He also served as Grand Knight of
Knights of Columbus, Commander of American Legion, and served in roles
for Seward County and Kansas Bar Associations as well as American Trial
Lawyer Association.
Grover was well known for his humor, his cantankerous ways and his
devotion to justice. He served as a judge but most proudly as a defense
attorney particularly for juveniles and the underserved. To most he was
simply known as Grover.
He is survived by his daughter Katie; his 2 sons, Sean and Kevin; his
granddaughter Michille and grandsons Will, Dylan, Matthew, Ben and Noah;
his great grandchildren Tracey, Jackson and Reagan; and his sister
Patty.
He wished to be cremated and Memorial Services will be held at Liberal
Cemetery on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 11:00 am.
