Gregory Eugene Sillin, 70, gained his heavenly wings on October 25, 2020 in Wichita, Kansas.
He was born on January 20, 1950, the son of Lloyd and Dorothy (Dimick) Sillin. He graduated from Liberal High School in 1968, and from Seward County Community College in 1990.

Greg will be remembered for his vast knowledge and love of learning, as well as his quick wit and humor. Greg was blessed with an inquisitive mind and was an avid reader and a technology guru. He was fascinated with history and had been working on discovering his past ancestry and family tree.

In his younger years, he was an exceptional bowler and worked for Ayr Lanes Bowling Alley for many years, managing the establishment. He had a passion for bowling and playing poker. He was a member of the Liberal Elks Club and enjoyed playing Texas Hold’em with the members of the club. Greg was also a current active member of the NRA.
He had a love for good food, good company, and his two cats. He will be missed by many in this community and by his beloved cats Maude and Maggie.

Greg spent the last 24 years of his life working for the Seward County Courthouse, managing the IT department. He was an exceptionally kind hearted and good man.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters Carol Arthurs and Judy Curry.

Surviving members of his family include:

One sister, Lisa Volgamore of Wichita, Kansas

Several nieces and nephews; Chris Ewalt of Liberal, Kansas, Jayme Applebee of Liberal, Kansas, Eric Arthurs of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Angie Arthurs of Omaha, Nebrasaka, Ashley Brown of Benton, Kansas, and Chad Hasty of Overland Park, Kansas.

Great nephews Austin and Andrew Applebee and great great nephew Jackson Applebee, all of Liberal, Kansas.

Greg left this world very peacefully to begin his next journey with God, Carol, Judy, Gordon and of course Lisa and Bart.

Memorial Services will be at 11:00am Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jeff Mitchell presiding.
