Grace Pansy Sleeper

Grace Pansy Sleeper, age 88, of Elkhart, Kansas, died Monday, July 11, 2022, at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton, Kansas. She was born January 2, 1934, in Elkhart the daughter of Fred Francis and Maybelle May (Conard) Craver.
Grace grew up in Elkhart and graduated from Elkhart High School. While in high school, she met William E. Sleeper and they were married on October 28, 1951, in Elkhart. Together they farmed in Oklahoma and raised four children. Grace held a private pilot’s license, and loved to travel. She enjoyed visiting her kids and grandkids and taking cruises. Grace was a talented artist and spent many hours crocheting. She was also an active member of the Christ Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her sons, Earl Sleeper and wife Pam of San Angelo, Texas, Allan Sleeper and wife Terri of New London, Missouri, and Bruce Sleeper of Liberal, Kansas; daughter, Tracie Bowker of Richfield, Kansas; seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Grace is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Maybelle Craver; husband, William in 2001; son-in-law, Warren Bowker; three grandchildren, Taren Bowker, Amalia Bowker, and Earl Eugene Sleeper, Jr.; and one great-grandchild, Samantha Rae Sleeper.
Graveside service will be held Sunday, July, 17, 2022, at 2:30 PM at the Elkhart Cemetery with Pastor Mark Wescoatt officiating. Family will greet friends Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
