Glenn E. Cain, 94, of Tyrone, Oklahoma, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.
Glenn was born May 14, 1919, southwest of Tyrone, Oklahoma, the son of Corbett and Della Cain. He graduated from Liberal High School in 1939. A long time resident of Tyrone, he was a farmer and rancher. On April 17, 1949, he was united in marriage to Maxine Stevens.
Glenn was a me mber of the Tyrone Baptist Church; he was an active member of the I.O.O.F, where he served as Grand Master of Oklahoma from 1969 to 1970. Glenn helped with the care of the Tyrone Cemetery for more than 50 years and was a member of the Tyrone School Board for 13 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine; three brothers, George, Bob and Bernard; four sisters, Edna, Ethel, Mildred and Kathryn; a daughter in law, Shelia Cain; a son in law, Bill Gibson.
Survivors include two sons, Gene and Cathy Cain of Tyrone, Randy and Sandy Cain of Tyrone; three daughters, Vickie Gibson of Burleson, Texas, Connie Manning and Billy of Dodge City, Kansas, Kandi Wolf and Travis of Spearman, Texas; sisters in law, Myrtle Cain of Limon, Colorado, Doris Mann of Tyrone, Oklahoma; brother in law, Jim Stevens and Eldena of Hutchinson, Kansas; 11 grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at the Tyrone Baptist Church with interment in the Tyrone Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker.
