Gertrude E. Norman, age 95, passed away Thursday evening, March 17, 2022, at the Fowler Residential Care Center, Fowler, Kansas.

She was born October 1, 1926, at rural Fowler, Kansas, the daughter of Frank H. and Josephine (Mahieu) Lepel. As a young girl she attended school in Fowler, graduating from Fowler High School in 1944. She later attended beautician school in Wichita, Kansas. A lifetime resident of Fowler, she was a farming wife and hairdresser.

She was a member of the Fowler Christian Church and the Christian Matrons. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, being a caregiver to many individuals, and spending time with her family and friends.

On July 10, 1949, she married William Allen Norman at Fowler. He precedes her in death on January 26, 1971.

She is survived by three sons, Gary Allen Norman of Oregon, Russell Wayne Norman of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Gregg William (Bill) Norman of Fowler; a daughter, Trudy Lynn Kemper of Vernon, British Columbia, Canada; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother, Charley Clarence Lepel; and three sisters, Wyomia Cross, Lena Glaze, and Flossie Wright.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the Fowler Cemetery, Fowler. Celebration of life services will be held at the Fowler Christian Church at a later date.

The family would welcome memorials to the Fowler Christian Church in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
